Randomnessless shuffle
Is it me or are there others who noticed that the shuffle shuffles through the same short list or artists? Anyone know how you can improve the randomness of shuffle?

Thanks for taking the time to reply. As I gather, these are suggestions not available in the current application. And I would have to rate every song to be able to use it. That looks like a lot of work.
![]() Would you not get another predictable list with songs? My comment is that the current shuffle is not random enough, lays a heavy emphasis on a small number of artists who are played a lot, while other artists are seldom heard. Is it for instance possible to enforce WinAmp to use another seed, so it generates another random list of artists? |

I believe they are available now, to some degree, although I haven't tried them.
Also, true randomness and perceived randomness are often not the same thing. Having said that, I agree with your basic thrust. In radio, there is an option called artist separation, so when playlists are made repeating artists don't occur too much.
