Maybe it takes more space for a .psd (all my skins are small) but it makes it easeir.
You see your layout as you go and mantis knows where parts go autuomatically by their position in the .psd compared to the background of the psd. So your button is automatically in teh right place. and you dont need 300 files for a skin. Also, when you going to have micron z out? Jon Why Llamas? Why not Aardvarks??

I still hope they add psd support - it would make skinning a lot easier I think. Although right now a good deal of the difficulties of skinning S2 are hidden because it doesn't have full support for playlists, etc etc.
hmmm... 5 posts to go... hope they come quickly! - I haven't seen a new skin in awhile... |

So rhino that master bitmap thing is like an image map? (if you know web design you know what i mean)
That would make it easier. Also if you could use lets say the bottom left corner image from the media library on the bototm left corner of the playlist. Cause right now you have to put one in each directory right? Jon Why Llamas? Why not Aardvarks??

Apart from that, nothing stops you from using an image in all sorts of things. For example, in my Diablo II skin, I use the same bottom left corner image for the components, the minibrowser (not a component even though it looks like one), and the EQ. It just takes listing the image in each xxx-elements.xml file. Similarly, I use the same menu, windowshade and minimize/close buttons in everything in my skin. |
