Winamp doesn't unload in win2000

When I close winamp, either by closing it from the right-click menu in the systray, or by closing it from the actual UI, it appears to be closed. But, next time I open winamp, it doesn't open because winamp.exe is still running somehow.

This becomes quite annoying, as everytime I want to close winamp now, I have to force it to be closed from the task manager.

Sounds more like the fault of some dodgy 3rd party plugin?
Probably of the General Purpose variety . . . yes, no, maybe?
