Look, you've posted all over the forums, and all of your problems are inter-related.
"Could not create DS object" is the error message you get when the DirectSound Output plugin is selected and is the equivalent of mmsystem004/032 when the WaveOut plugin is selected. Both these errors mean that you need to reinstall your soundcard drivers. Goto: System Control Panel -> Device Manager Expand: "Sound....Controllers" to find out the make & model of your soundcard. Then goto the manufacturer's website, download & install the latest available drivers for your type of soundcard, and all your problems will go away. If you can't find the website, tell us what soundcard you have & maybe we can help to locate the relevant site for you. The tips in the link that JonnyMac provided should also prove very useful, as should all the links that Matt gave you in the other thread/s (re: mmsystem004) If you still have problems, tell us what soundcard you have, what your OS is (eg. Win98), and tell us what version of Windows Media Player is installed (eg. v6.1, v6.4, v7, v7.1), and what version of DirectX you have (start -> run -> dxdiag) |
