i tried to look thru and see if any 1 posted this already, but i didn't see it, so here we go...
i like to load a hug playlist and then hit ranom and just listen to music for hours. the problem is, that even tho i don't have repeat marked, a few songs get repeated. I don't remember this happening in earlier versions of winamp, and i actually find it annoying sometimes. hope it gets fixed. |

No, shuffle still suxxx....
Just try turning it on and push play several times... Some times it selects the same song 100's of times... |

i also noticed that when u hit random it skips songs too. when u hit random it should take the number asigned to each song and put them in a random order, not randomly generate the #s.

The shuffle in version 2.76 is not working well for me either. I used to be able to play through an entire playlist with shuffle on and never get a repeated song. Now, not only do many of the songs repeat, but it skips over other songs entirely. It seems to me that this problem happens when playing through a playlist for the first time after starting Winamp. If you go through every song in the playlist, and then turn shuffle off and on again, the songs then shuffle properly.

2.76 Random Play Bug
It's definite. Random play worked correctly in 2.75, i.e. played each song in the playlist only once, randonly. Doesn't do that now. Now plays some songs multiple times and others never. The random function in 2.75 was fine. Please put it back!

DJEgg,
I tried your suggestion, but the problem did not go away. ![]() There is one thing I have noticed about this problem since I last posted. If you go backwards through the playlist after reaching the end, the repeats will go away and the skipped songs will show up in their place. |

Suggestion: don't use shuffle function in Winamp, shuffle playlist externally.

would it really be that difficult or expensive to basically have one bit per playlist entry for whether its been played or not? if it has been, then try another random number.
so far, i've noticed this shuffle problem in every version of winamp since the low 1.whatevers. - dan dschin@nand.net |

1. Nothing can stop you, if you really want
![]() 2. I think about writting gp plug-in what'll shuffle playlist physically. 3. Nullsoft is hiring
