Hello,

My system has been having performance problems since upgrading from Winamp 2.73 to 2.76. Basically, my system is perfectly fine until I attempt to edit an ID3v2 tag. Once I do so, my system becomes very unstable--pausing, freezing, high cpu idle (~55%). The problem is non-existent on my Win2k machine, but the ID3v2 editor is still VERY slow even in Win2k.

I believe something is wrong with the ID3v2 editing feature of Winamp 2.76. The problem could potentially be a conflict with the external ID3 tag editor I use--MP3ext. I am using MP3ext version 3.3b17 found at: http://www.mutschler.de/mp3ext But I even notice that removing this editor from the system doesn't cure the problems. If I nuke the sytem and reinstall Win98 and Winamp 2.76, all is well until the first time I edit an ID3v2 tag. Am I the only one who experiences this?

Phil
