i love your milkdrop plugin...only thing is, it runs slow in desktop mode (atleast for me and my friend...).
i use .99d and the settings i ahve it at right now is 1/2 res, no hw blit, auto text size, 24x18 mesh size, fps unlimited, and not using multimon. i run my desktop at 1280x960 and i get ~7fps. my system is as follows : p3 933mhz, 256mb ram, tnt2 ultra, under win2k sp2...and i guess thats all thats relevant. i had no processes running in the background when i benchmarked. a friend of mine also got the same results using the same settings, except he has 512mb ram, an athlon 600, a geforce w/ ddr, under win98. i've read previous posts and it seems that other people get the same fps rates...i would jus love to have this running smoothly, since right now it lags my mouse response a little bit and other apps. |

I know that there isnt likley any way to get the desktop mode to go any faster, but I think this note is relevent to this thread, so I'll note it here.
I dont know what causes the colors to be screwed up when using blit mode on an unsupported card, but my colors do get screwed up. I was wondering if the color which comes out of blit mode on an unsupported card is directly related to the color which is trying to be sent out. [for example, my output appears to be primarily green] If this is the case, perhaps a solution can be applying an RGB Shift option to add/reduce RGB values when outputting to blit mode, and hopefully a more pleasing output will result (even if it isnt 100% perfect). |
