What's the Best DSP Program you have used with WinAmp?

I like DFX. IS there anything better?
Also input Plug-in's.
I like CDReader.

Thanks,

I use Dee (it's like DFX but free) and Pace Maker. (I'll hopefully update this soon with the URLs when my downlods are done, I hate dial-up).

DEE and DFX seem to be the best.
What do you like more about DEE Besides it's free?

Thanks for the reply!

It seemd to be less resource intensive the DFX, but I have no data to back that up.

Enhancer is really cool as well.
Check it out if you like good DSP plug-ins.

Just tweak the settings until you get a sound you like.
It's pretty simple

Why we need DSP? I'm now listening to Winamp, it's playing mp3's decoded with LAME 3.89 at 192 kbps without any DSP plugins. I'm using Winamp 2.76 default in_mp3 plugin and it sounds damn good. You just need pair of good speakers and good amp.

Enhancer really improves the sound quality, imho.
But if you don't need any DSP, cool

Ozone is impressive but it's shareware.
You can also check out the new versions of Enhancer

Ozone IMHO blows away DFX and Dee. The bass from Ozone in particular and just a hard to describe "fullness" that it adds. Put all three in a DSP stacker and you can switch between them quickly and hear the difference. There really is a big difference.

well i think DFX sounds better, with the fidelity meter maxed out...... but ozone gives better bass. perhaps if i have the full version i can tinker it to sound better, but no way am i gonna splash out so much $ on such a small piece of programming! shareware sucks

Dee is the best

(for the simple reason that all the others you are comparing it with cost $) Call me cheap, but for free the difference in quality between dee & others is negli...umm neglagib... wait... the difference is - OH there isn't that big of a difference!

Cute sayingless

After some testing on my computer speakers (moderate quality) and some nice headphones...

- The Winamp EQ sounds more distored than any of the DSP's mentioned yet, so it's out of the question for me
- DFX is my favorite of the general DSP's in that it sounds least distorted while enhancing a lot of music...however many songs don't sound good with it and I don't want to have to toggle it all the time
- Dee distorts the music too much, and the author is a little bass happy -- most of the default presets, including the default "optimal", almost shook my monitor off the table with its bass (however, if cost is an issue this is the one to use...$20 is a little crazy for a DSP after all)
- SuperEQ is what I decided to use. A generic EQ setting that you like for most of your music will sound just find without the need for constant toggling. It doesn't seem to distort the music at all, however since you can't set a +db (a big reason it won't distort) the music will get too quiet if you set the -db too low (the author got carried away with how "powerful" it is....-95db is a little extreme The interface could also use some work, and is slightly buggy

If you want them rated,
1) SuperEQ
2) DFX
3) Dee
-) Enhancer and Ozone (didn't test them much because I wasn't impressed for one reason or another)
X) Winamp EQ (last place, never realized how much it distorts)

I personally used HeadAmp DSP plug_in.dll (which is kind of hard to find) but it allows you to have really loud sound (and of course that with headphone, normal speakers in Pc's are quiete "cheap" and low quality of sound). You can even have the eq at 20 (max amp) and each band at 4.1 and the sound doesn't get that choppy. If you really want to try this out email and I will find a way to guide to the file.

I like time stretch plug-ins like Chronotron and I especially can amuse myself hours with Nullsoft DSP Effects.

DSP sucks when you try to use them on a techno or goa song.
The more bass you add the more faint it'll get. Some parts of the song is high when others are low (volume I mean).
Might be good on pop music but not on fast songs with bass already.

dsp?

i dont really like dsp effects at all, they make the music sound to smooth.. the bass just doesnt sound the same, definetely not as loud.. i just use the good old nobbies on my ancient amp to adjust my bass/treb when i need to (lol its like 20 years old.. made by sansui, actually its a 'reciever'.. 4 channel 220 watt.. i got some cheapo speakers hooked up to it in a bridged configuration..)

well, let me poke my nose in here.
1) Dee
2) Izotope ozone
3) Dfx
4) SRS wowthing
5) the others are crap.

Dee is the best cause its' the most customizable one. those who say it distorts the sound just don't know how to set it correctly.
Izotope has great sound, especially on poor sound system cause it's doesn't distort when bass gets too high.
Dfx is nice, but the bass booster is crap.
SRS has the best Bass booster of them all and a very special 3d sound rendering filter that makes you hear some sounds that are inaudible without it.
the others like realizer and the few hundred 3d dsp's including enhancer are just lame. sorry i didn't try the latest version of enhancers... the blue design of the version i got hurt my ears and the distorted bass made me cry. uuh wait a sec...

wait, here's my favorite dee configuration:
bass amp: 7
bass dyn: normal
bass frq: 170hz
mid amp: 7
treb amp: 7
treb dyn: normal
treb frq: 8khz
3d amp: 2
reverb: none
