Stream speeds up

I'm running Shoutcast server on an Athlon Duron processor with 128 MB of ram. Listening to a line-input feed from this server starts off clean, but after a while it becomes like listening to Mickey Mouse...or a cross-dubbing tape deck on high speed!

I'm frustrated after searching through these forums all morning and not finding a doggone thing to help!

Any ideas?

I am having the same problem...running both the shoutcast DSP and the shoutcast server on the same box. I have an AMD k6-2/366 with 160 RAM and a SB live card. When I connect to the stream through another pc, the stream is sped up, almost double time. When I stream to live365, problem does not exists, so I know it lies on my machine. Any suggestions on why it does this? Is it the processor trying convert both? I have searched most of these boards for this and have only found this post.
please help....THANKS!!!

I got the exact same problem...it only started when i transfered winamp and shoutcast to my spare comp which is networked to the main sharing a 1000kbs connection through a router....? I'd love to know the answer to this one..I've tried changing stream from 24 - 128 kbs but no change....

Yes, I also have the same problem.. of course it sounds fine on my box, but when I listened from my friend's computer it sounded double time... my stream is at http://www.petrofang.com/antron.pls
(redirecting to the one streaming from http://24.128.147.245:8000 )

system specs:
AMD Duron ~944 640MB SDRAM

Okay, listen in to http://www.petrofang.com/antron.pls and if it sounds fine, that's the solution. The intro file needs to be the same bandwidth as the stream. I had a 56k stream with a 128k intro file, and so the stream started at 128k and then started reading 56k stream, that's what made it sound sped up, exactly like playing a 33 at 78 rpm..

what you'd need to is get a CD ripper that also does wavs, take you intro file, decompress it to wav, and then re-encode it to mp3 with at the same bitrate that your stream is (in my case, 56k) .. maybe that one guy from brazil that's been listening for the last couple days likes alvin and the chipmonks?

Hey wait I'm sorry, no, that didn't fix it!!! I just commented the intro file line back out, I don't know what the problem with that was, but it works fine without intro file!

Nope.

The intro file needs to be in the same samplerate and have the same number of channels as the target stream.

Check out the DNASs sc_serv.ini/conf configuration file for the section (default shown below and important piece in bold):
