771 entry limitation on playlist

Well this is a bug or I am a "TImMy!!!!"
I cant seem to get my play list to "hold" over 771 entrys. I have a around 950 MP3's and like to have a complete playlist that the player shuffles. Ok, easy enough, (I have been saving playlist for a while now with no probs!)but when you hit the shortcut for the playlist, Winamp opens and plays, but POOF! only 771 entrys!
Please help, this one is driving me nuts! Its the simple things that should not happen but do that kill me!!!
All the tech junk about my machine:
Dual Booting Win98SE & Win2000 with a Data Pool on Drive D (where the playlist live)
AMD 1200 MHz Athlon with 266FSB
Epox EP-8K7A DDR Main Board
256 Meg DDR RAM
Seagate ATA100 5400 40G (OS Drive)
WD ATA66 7200 20G Data Storage
Blaster Live! with CD Digital (not value!)
But that it matters;
Matrox G450 Dual Head 32 MB DDR 4X AGP Video
DVD and Burner
Antec Case with drive fan (it keeps its cool!)
Anyway you get the idea, its got plenty of power to make a stinkin playlist!!! It does all the video plugins! Any help you could provide will save many terrified hairs in my head. (they frade they next!)
