Mi winamp se adelanta solo, empieza a la mitad y hasta que termina la canción, esto empezó desde quie lo instale, habia instalado el 2.76 pero lo cambie por el 2.74 y el problema sigue. Que hago?

My winamp go forward by itself, it starts like a half of the song and to the end, this start since i instaled, i had 2.76 but i change it to 2.74 and the problems still hapen, help me!.

Alright, first off, we'll need full system specs, such as videocard, soundcard, amount of RAM installed, CPU, Windows version, DirectX version, and so on. That'll make it much easier for us to help you with your problem .

Always make sure you have the latest drivers installed, especially for your sound- and videocard.

I have an nvidia tnt 2, soundMAX digital audio, windows ME, 256 Mb in RAM, amd athlon processor 1.2 ghtz, Windows ME, Directx 8.0

MP3, WAV, MID, WMA, MOD, Audio CD, all of these?

Does the same thing happen with other players, or just Winamp?
If just with Winamp only, have you installed any 3rd-party plugins?
If so, which ones? Are any of them active?
(General Purpose, DSP/FX, Visualization)

What other programs are running at the time?

Like Budgie says, it's more than likely a soundcard driver issue

Okay, cheers for the sys specs.
As long as you've got all the latest drivers, everything seems pretty cool,
though the SoundMax sounds a bit suspicious, sad to say.
Is this just an integrated sound chip, not actually a soundcard?

Anyway, if you could possibly answer some of my questions from above . . . hey, you've probably already done so by the time I post this message

This hapens with mp3 files, and cd, this only hapens with winamp, i dont have any plug in, just the default ones, and active mm, any.
programs running at the time:
icq, mirc, zone alarm, agsatellite, norton, explorer,
i have seen that this sometimes happens when i click some link in the exploirer, or just at the half of the song.

All this is exactly what hapens to me, the computers looks similar, and i use those programs too. The only that im not going to do , is the hd thing.

Does the problem still occur when you close all programs such as ICQ, mIRC, Zone Alarm, AudioGalaxy Satellite, Norton (btw, what kind of Norton program? Those tend to get into Winamp's way under certain circumstances)? I would recommend to close all those programs and see if your problem disappears.

Furthermore, are DMA transfers for your harddrive enabled? DMA transfers usually give a nice performance boost . To check if DMA transfers for your HDD are active, do the following: Go to your computer's Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager -> Drives -> Generic IDE Disk Type0X (where the "X" is the number of harddrive, usually one or another entry like that with a "2" instead of a "1"). Double click that entry and choose the Settings - tab. Checkmark DMA if it's not checked already. DMA transfers are disabled by default and should be enabled to take off load of your CPU and speed up drive performance in general. Do the same with your CD-ROM drives.
Does all not apply if you are using a SCSI system ...

I agree with DJ Egg saying that your soundcard SoundMAX sounds suspicious indeed . I have heard that that soundcard's drivers suffer from certain driver issues, but anyways,
get the latest drivers for your soundcard. I am wondering as well if that sound-solution is a seperate card or an on-board solution on your computer's mainboard.

Having the latest drivers installed is essential . Your DirectX version is current and should be alright at all.

What output plugin are you using within Winamp? DirectSound or waveOut? In order to check that, open up Winamp first. Then you press the CTRL and the P - key together to make the Winamp preferences window to appear. There you go to Plug-ins -> Output -> highlight Nullsoft DirectSound plug-in v2.0.

Now close Winamp and let it play a song (stop playback if a song was playing, otherwise Winamp won't notice the change).

The Winamp setup default is the WaveOutput plugin, so maybe changing to DirectSound solves your problem .

I just made that signature today . I used Fireworks 3, a font that comes with Windows 98 SE, and the EyeCandy 4000 filters. Pretty easy to do .
