No help from Shoutcast team or broadcaster
Several days ago i posted a very strange bug in those forum. No answer for now (i understand from broadcaster as i'm sure it's a software bug but why shoutcast team (as Tom) never replay mails and posts ?
Of course my second post was closed for crossposting but i think it's a major bug and a BIG problem for ALL radio owners. I have more than 10 relays, everywhere in europe. The main one (http://nlc.no:8002) is full very often, and some people send emails to me with some strange message as this relay wasn't providing the good stream !? I checked log and saw : sc_serv.log:<09/10/01@12:59:56> [dest: 217.151.0.130] service full, redirecting to backup 129.252.25.33:8000 (For each people trying to access the stream) Well i checked this ip and looks like someone in South Carolina: http://www.samspade.org/t/lookat?a=129.252.25.33 (Armitage Radio) I contacted him, here is the answer "That is quite odd. There is nothing in my configuration that would cause Shoutcast to rollover listeners to me when your server gets full o.O I hope the guys at Shoutcast can figure this one out for you." Btw when i start the relay again, i can see this : sc_serv.log:<09/09/01@04:50:19> [yp_tch] new backup server 129.252.25.33:8000 How shoutcast server could know that a backup server is connected ? How to stat a server to be know by shoutcast server as backub ? It's a VERY VERY big problem for all my listeners. PS : i need answer from people who know shoutcast very well, i don't need 'check ini file' answer as i already checked everything. Thx ! Friendly |
