Importing WMP Playlist

Hi,

Is there a way to import playlists created in Windows Media Player into Winamp? If so how? I tried exporting playlist from WMP. It creates .asx file which I can't open in Winamp.

Thanks.

I may be wrong but I don't think it's possible.

See if you can get WMP to export as M3U or PLS. Winamp supports those formats.

Thanks for the suggestions. I had checked that WMP doesn't provide multiple ways of exporting playlist. I can change the extension but if course that doesn't help. From my search in forum so far, I have not been able to locate any plugin for .asx files.

I don't feel like looking now, I'll try later if someone doesn't beat me. There is a in_asf plug-in somewhere (a hacked in_wma) that supports .asx.

I'll be back later

All playlist formats (asx, m3u, pls) are plain ASCII text files.

Open the asx playlist in Notepad, remove all the garbage, leaving just the paths/links to the actual playlist entries (one entry per line) and then save the file with the m3u extension (File menu -> save as -> change drop-down menu to "All Files" -> type in: filename.m3u -> okay)
