help

i thought id try makin a skin for WA3, starting with just modifying the baseskin so i unzipped it to a folder and simply changed one of the png's. when i then tried to load the skin winamp crashed. what did i do wrong?

you changed one PNG and it crashed? sounds weird, what PNG did you change?

delete studio.xnf and try again...

i tried to change player.buttons and thinger.buttons. i never worked with png files before. is there something i should do other than just save it?

winamp doesn't crash anymore. instead i get some message "the skin youre trying to load doesn't seem to be supported skin by winamp 3"
i dont have a file in my folder thats called studio.xnf. i have one called studio.xml tho should i delete it. couldn't someone just tell me step by step how to just change a png in the baseskin

studio.xnf is in teh winamp3 dir, not your skin dir

Let's make sure we're on the same page first. You've got Winamp3beta1, have renamed the default skin to default.zip and unzipped it. I would rename the resulting directory to something like "default-edits" or something, just to be clear.

Now then, what graphics program do you have?

i downloaded probe and didn't get that to work either so i reinstalled winamp and it seems to work now. thanx

Try using "Simple Skin". That one is a lot easier to modify.
