I wanted a real 3D effect
just didnt figure it would
take over a week to finish.
I dont know if people are
into 3D but I like them

I have finished 5 skins now
the learning curve has been
interesting.

Any tips on transparensies
are welcome for my next
project.

The Edge is a look at the
Universe with worlds in
creation. It was horribly
difficult 2 line everthing up.
I am glad I didnt have 2 create
the Universe in a week this skin
was difficult enough

Any tips or suggestions are welcome

Sorry I just looked at my post and realized the JPG is from a very early version, but it kinda gives u the idea. I went on to develope the 3D effect a lot further.

hook us up with an updated screen shot, it looks like a good earlier version except for the skinner remnants.

here is the final version
it has all the rows lined up and
the cursors are little spaceships

the eq line is hidden in a universe line
i removed the moons and suns
on the eq buttons it looked 2 busy

its has a real 3D effect
u feel like u could step right
into it.

It look simple but it took forever
2 get the right effect.

i give it one outta 5 stars... u used a skinner to create therefore, it sucks. try developing the buttons to ur liking

hehe dont we all wish we had months and months 2 develop skins
I like creating skins but this took a week 2 make and i just dont have more time 2 spend than that

I think you should use larger versions of the Cbuttons for the Playlist buttons. This skin has mad potential, but as it is, I can't in good conscience give it more than 2.5 stars either.
And the only reason I'm going that high is because I love the dimensions.

Thanks for the advice
on the buttons but they look different on the skin as compared 2 the picture maybe i should post it somewhere so u could take a real look.

And i am not really interested in ratings one person will love something the next person will hate it, but i am interested in the buttons improvment, if u still think so if u see it working

I didnt explain that very well, but the buttons are crucial 2 the 3D effect they go from larger 2 smaller. The theme is worlds in creation and the buttons are little worlds i could use different types of buttons for different things then the size might not be so critical to the effect but the buttons are 50% of the effect right now.
Well I could always resize them all up I guess but then maybe the eq buttons will look strange, 2 big? Dunno u got 2 see it working 2 get the full effect

hmmm ... have to agree with Forevever - you have not yet brought this skin to its full potential

I like the perspective effect very much, I think this skin would be worth to be developed further - maybe you should carry on the bullet theme and also give your cbuttons a bullet shape. Same for pl buttons that are still not customized, and also the winshade/close buttons still have their skinning tool appearance. The bottom of the playlist (in its normal size) would fit very well into the next intersection of your horizontal lines, so you could integrate it into your main design

i have the cursors as spaceships and the
worlds round on purpose but maybe i will
play with that a bit

I absolutely understand your idea with the buttons and you're right. They look fabulous going from small to large. However, you wouldn't have to change the sizes of the ones you already have, just make the playlist ones bigger (or even bigger then smaller in popup when you click). The cbutton is 23x18 and the PL button is 25x18 (including the 3pixels to the left) and the eq button is 11x11. And if you're going bigger as you go down (which you obviously are), that gives you at least 14x7 pixels to work with on the playlist. You could do it! I'm sure you could.

heheh ok u guys talked me into it I will do some more work on the skin as soon as i get time, instead of going onto a new project

My earlier works are all nice graphics and stuff but really just learning projects this was my first attempt at putting what I learned into use.
