Before I gouge my eyes out...
Once upon a time, in a WinAmp far, far away, I was able to select an Output plugin, select a song from a CD and...VOILA! It would quickly rip the song onto my c-drive with NO muss and NO fuss.
NOW, I just downloaded the most recent version of WinAmp, attempted the same thing and...surprise: NOTHING! It just played my song instead of ripping it. I searched for the topic 'rip' and 'convert' and utilized 'wav' and 'mp3' names in my searches of the FAQ, all of the forums, miscellaneous sites, et. al. and still I have had no luck. Instead of pointing out the plug-in, would it just be possible for someeone to explain the EXACT procedure for ripping a CD using WinAmp? Please? |

Right click and go to:
Options -> Preferences -> Plugins/Output Select the DiskWriter plugin. Click configure. Choose a directory. Hit play. Done. For the freedom to express myself in my own way without fear of being censored or banned.47 65 6C 61 65 64 2E 63 6F 6D 00 |

Reformat.
![]() Try reinstalling Winamp. the plugin may be corrupted somehow. You might want to try deleting your preference file, too. If it's corrupt, then it might affect the output somehow. D'oh! I didn't realize he was ripping from a CD.
Winamp just calls the native functions for that. It doesn't control the output. CD audio doesn't actually pass through Winamp. For the freedom to express myself in my own way without fear of being censored or banned.47 65 6C 61 65 64 2E 63 6F 6D 00 |
