Beta2 skin

This is a Skin I designed to specifically show off the cool transparecny fucntions of winamp 3, if course it'll only work if winamp 3 can handle a lot of layered transparency, well a little anyway

and yes I know I'm still now done with that other skin... but I just had to make the graphics at least for this one while I had it in my head besides I'm the kinda guy that never do only one thing at a time and this one doesn' have advanced rottation volume controls and stuff...

Now if I only had a Beta2 release so I could make a simple XML and test this thing and see how it looked... cough cough

I'm working on redoing the Main GUI with Anti Aliasing on my selection "on" now .....

Anyway if I use "smooth" on a selection, the smoothed corners won't be anti aliased, is there any way to fix this?
and if anyoen tells me the AVS can't be "IN" the player I'll start torturing people untill there is a way


Lunar: Looks like a good time to upgrade to XP/2k doesn't it +10 ego points....

I got all the graphics exported now thoguh, except for the main background but I shoudl have that done by tomorrow, then I'll put together a rough XML. Of course I can't show you any screenshots of it wokring since It'll be but ugly without transparency

Jon: I'll try and get a XML ready soon after I'm home tomorrow. Won't have wokrign Volume or Seekbars though, well I might be able to get the volume bar working..

My blobamp skin is compatable with full transparency.
someone with 452/3 could add a drawbackground="0" to make it look like this:

Alpha version of the skin ready.

It's got the normal play keys working and the text title ticker.

btw what else do you have to add to get the VIS working on what exactly is the entry for the ticker text color

I guess I'll try my hand on the volume with Lucas volume script tomorrow.

hmmmmm Can't upload WAL's, just as well maybe back to zip .... too big.... better get out the gooldold ftp proggie then..

I don't know how to include TFT fonts but it's in the zip anyway

After ripping of Lucas skin and testign some, it's nto got a working volume bar too. tomorrow I'll have to see if I can use his skin to figure out how to make the Seekbar work like it as well

looking good, cant wait till you get the AVS in there. I wish more
skins had that (like both the sonique skins). theres a problem with
the volume bar where if you keep on going up it loops back down to

put the desktopalpha code in your player-normal.xml right at the top where your <layout> tag is.
<layout id=whatever desktopalpha=1> or whatever.

First off I have to compliment you, great skin, can't wait to get the new beta and see it as it is meant to be shown. But I actually already have seen it, in my own good'ol build #448.

By Downloading the recenetly released Winamp 2 Plugin Manager and one of the already avaiable Winamp 2.x Transparency Plugin, I get what the below image shows.

If you want links to the Winamp 2 Plugin Manager, and the Winamp 2.x Transparency I will try to find them.

Or if you want me to take a screenshot with a nice right click so you can see this build #448, I can do that too, anything. Just let me know, I just wanted to write this quick, to get this info out.

(note, niether of the above files are made by me, and the only reason why the second one does nto direct you to the author is becuase there are quite a few of this type of plugin available, and I could not find the exact one I first got.) (Which by the way actually has problems with some windows in winamp3, which I don;t know is a result of the wa2 mgr plugin, or the transparent plugin)

You can put avs in the player (see Steve's ETA skin), but no desktopalpha layout can contain a component (blame microsoft for fucking up with children layered window support), and AVS is a component, so this will have to wait a little bit (probably next beta) for a few additions to AVS so you can use it in a desktopalpha'd layout.

Ah, ok, I was starting to wonder why all of the sudden, my ML and PL wouldn't stay in the drawer after I used desktopalpha on it.
In win98 though, it works but only because desktopalpha doesn't work in 98.

Thanx alot Microsoft for making such a great piece of OS that is buggy like hell!

oh oh oh, does it work in Linux then? since it's microsofts fault I mean...

Also, in the next beta, could you make it possible to make one or more of the components be NOT always on top, so that if one or more of them are in drawers, like in my skin, they won't slide in on top of the main window but underneath it instead... That would be great.

I don't think I will continue this skin as seen here, though if anyone wants to finish it I'll be happy to give him the PSD and everything.
But msyelf I'll probably finish the Wheel of Time skin, then I'll make an MK to version o this one that will be more aestethically(phew, long and probably misspelled word) pleasing and more functional. This skin was more aspur of the moment skin to make somethign that would look cool in transparent. It looks good at 50% size thoguh (if you scale all the graphics in Photoshop and re export everythign that is) and I had some good ideas for the Winsade wich probably will carry over to the MK2 version.

hey, the skin looks sweet, but i got a rather irrelevant question.. how did you get your taskbar to look like that where the middle is completely gone and stuff.. id be interested to know what program you used.. thx, btw, will that skin work in the beta 2 build or what? if not where can i get 453 or whatever?

Yes, the skill will work in Beta 2. It will be transparent (as shown) if you have Windows 2000 or Windows XP (not 9x or ME).

wow, thats cool and all, but its just to cumbersome for me, i bet it will be real cool when its finished, but its kinda not workin for me either, i get unhandled exceptions and transtext/tclock wont load because it cant 'attach' to explorer or some wierd error, overall its pretty cool though
