Unhappy am i correct in assuming that wa3 skins need to be INSTALLED?

that makes me angry... why can't we just download a zip file without installing it... i don't like having my registry cluttered up...

,

Wa3 skins do not need to be installed, all you need to do is put the wal file in the skins dir. Wal files are just zip files renamed to .wal, some aren't working correctly with beta1, because of a bug, but they should work in beta2. Most of the ones from winamp.com come in a executable so that people can't screw up and put them in the wrong folder.

ok... good, thanks! (i looked at the file name and it was like skinname_install.exe) so all the exe means is it's a self-extracting skin file? good....

Yes, it is just a installer that jsut extracts the .wal to the skins directory. The only reason they are currently .exe is because WA3 does not regrister .wal yet, so it would confuse n00bs/browsers

Expect .wal to be regristered like .wsz is with WA 2.X
