I Can't hear the music

Whenever i run smoke, no matter what settings i use, the music always goes silent unless i repeatedly press the help key or move the window or something! As no-one else has reported this, i guess it could be my system, so for the record, i'm running:

PIII 866, 384Mb RAM, 32 Mb NVidia graphics, Soundblaster live value sound card, win 98.

I don't know if it's useful but i've attached s_debug.txt just in case.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
