Q about the iPod
to anyone that has the iPod, I am wondering, is it worth the $399 price tag? I'm considering getting a Nomad Jukebox, which is running for 189$ plus a 30$ mail-in-rebate (who knows if I'll ever see that though). The iPod seems to have a nice interface (well, it's made by apple =P) but I was wondering if it has capabilities to record live audio like the nomad jukebox. And also is it worth the $399 like i said above. Sry about the last post, didn't notice that it was an old topic ^^;

it can't record.
it has restrictions that "prevent" you from putting your files on another mac. course that's been patched. cnet and dmusic both have reviews of it... and why did my wheel on my mouse stop responding...

dude, i have the nomad, and i love it
then again, the weight isn't an issue w/ me since i'm used to carrying it in a backpack that already weighs more than my ten year old brother (no joke, i once weighed it) if you have a mac, i'd say giv the ipod a try, but buy it from somewher that you can easily return it otherwise, go w/ the nomad then again, i'm biased |

Okay thanks, that helps. I didn't read many reviews on the iPod, just on the nomad...but anyways i think i'm going with the Nomad jukebox because I have a backpack as well (I feel your pain =P) and i have a pc anyway (thugh I know there is software for ipod on the pc)
Thanks a lot |

enjoy the nomad man
just a word of advice: get the charger, it comes w/ two sets of batteries, but it's still a bitch trying to keep both sets charged up and drop the dang thing, the cover on mine is splitting |

I have an iPod and love it! I just flew to Europe, 8 hours, single charge. I also love how damn fast and easy it is to load all the music. I have a USB Rio and OMG! I am actually glad it has only 64MB!
The other plus is its size and weight and so easy to select from your 1000 songs. I have 687 songs and the drive is 1/2 full. If you have a Mac, I know most of you don't, but if you do, it also serves as a firewire drive whci is cool. I put some stuff on to have with me if ever needed. All and all I am very happy and bought a second one for my wife when she works out. Good luck with what ever you buy!
