licensing restrictions for mp3 track broadcasting..

hello,

anyone know if a licensing fee must be paid to possess mp3 tracks that have been stored on my HDD for over 30days? ive asked this question before and forgot what the answer was to it... if im not mistaken, a person can hav mp3 tracks on their HDD for personal evaulation but can not broadcast commercially without paying licensing fees for them, or is this not correct?

or does a person have to pay licensing fees for these mp3's regardless of whether it be for personal use or not?

well regardless of whether you care or not these royalty groups do. In all honesty they aren't going to come after you, but if you plan on becoming a large station then plan on paying some type of royalties to play certain music.
