To all members : please read !

Hello to all members,

As you probably already know, the forums are going through a major crisis at the moment. Lots of anger and frustration (justified most of the time) have spilled over the boards, causing some of the mods to leave and globally leading to an utterly obnoxious atmosphere.
I myself am extremely angry at many things regarding the management of these forums. However, I've decided to stay aboard to try to improve things. You have (almost) all been extremely supportive and patient and knowing that you're here to back us up is the best incentive to continue we could possibly have.
Let's face it: it may be quite long until these boards are restored to what they once were but I think it's worth trying

Since you're here for us, then we're here for you. You guys deserve it.

Have a nice day.

Can't really improve on or add to Seer's post - he has said everything that us mods want to say to the members. Thanks for all your support guys - it's much appreciated at the present time.

A great forum begins with its members, without us there wouldnt be a winamp forum. Let's all pitch in and make this place as great as it used to.

Even though we can never be what we used to, great members from the past such as Chev, randman, Jayn, and phish won't be with us anymore. The great mods from the past such as SexyLoserKitten and sgtfuzzbubble99 arent around to post like they used to anymore, we still have the future.

Lets make it a good one.

I've been around the Winamp forums about as long as anyone, WAY before this current forum software. It was just red on black back then, and not that many members. The purpose of the forum then, and the early stages of THIS forum was to have a place to discuss Winamp specifically, and any problems users were having. For that purpose, the forums were great, and helped all Winamp users learn and discuss issues regarding MP3 and other audio formats.

I quit posting much at this new forum over the past six or seven months, because mainly it sucks. It's just a bunch of whinny kids talking about bullshit crap that serious Winamp users could give a shit about. You want somebody to cry to, go to your preacher. The overall intelligence of this forum has taken a gigantic dive downwards, and it just doesn't interest me, except the pure discussions of Winamp and other areas of computer audio. This forum will probably NEVER return to the good old dayz, because there are many other audio forums that are better. For a boring soap opera, for kids to display their moron behavior, this is the place to be. But for us other serious longtimers, it's dumb, stupid, and I left the playground a long long time ago.

I don't know if any one has seen the second last season finale of Mad About You. Anyhow, the theme was that even though love is painful, and hard to maintain, it's too good to give up trying. So in the words of papadoc, keep on truckin'!

You should do whatever is necissary. From what i heard (from chev), things are pretty dire. You should stand up for what you believe in. I am more than willing to help also.

I believe that I have 2 choices here.

One: is to say to hell with it and run for the hills.
I've felt this way many times before here,
and almost did that one time before.
But I thought about it for a few days.
Had I got to those hills, I'm sure I would only look back
to see what I left behind, and wonder.
Two: would be to stand and fight for what I love and believe in.
However and whatever it takes.

The second choice is by far the hardest.
Sometimes I win, sometimes I loose, but at least I'm fighting.
I'd rather go down fighting knowing I tried.
Kinda like the way I choose to live my life.
So this is what I choose.

I don't fault anyone who decides to leave.
I understand that need completely.
I hope that if you decide to come back, you'll find
us still here fighting the good fight,
to make this place the best it can be in all areas.

So onward to face the demons and the dragons
that plague us, with the guidance of our fearless
leaders, whose own house we must fight to get in order, so they
can fight with us.

I was [edit]here for the good ol' days[/edit], and I'm sorry for making it worse.

No it wasn't a post pumper and no it wasn't an attention need. I was really frustrated with whats been going on and with me popping pills today (yes I was) I kinda let it all go. You can set my post count to zero if you like. I don't care. I just would like to stay a part of this community and help the forums.

I suggest making a "Internal Repairs" Forum. Here we would (NOT RELEASE ANGER) have discussions on how this community can be improved. We would have long chats and change the bad peoples' minds and make them good people. You might wanna try doing that with me. I just was so angry and I'm sorry guys. I've been going under the alias "Aeiri" on the IRC Channel (#*******) and I think I might change my name here to that too.

I was here for one week of the good ol' days. Back in the summer. Man I wish we could all get that back. We were all happy. It might be with what the world's state is in today. USA and Afghanistan haven't been more angrier at each other. I see that all around us in life too. Everyone thinks we are pulling together, but we are just pushing each other way apart. Winamp | Forums ' Economy has pushed into a deeper reccession than USA is in, lets all pitch in and try to pull our injured friend out.

Yet again I am sorry if I hurt any of your feelings friends (if I haven't changed you into enemies yet), and I'd like to help people who are having a hard time, because I know how you feel. I'll try to keep my cool for now on, but if you guys want me to pack up and go, I'll do so. I won't come back again if you wish this, but I sure hope that I haven't gone to that extreme.

With Regards and Apologies, Under aliases Ryosas, Aeiri, Sasoyr, Arjj, GeorgeCowerdlyLion, Gingerly, and vqB,

Flame thing is the user and all their posts were deleted.

Well I guess you just had to be there.

Well I did try to intergrate more with the rest of the Winamp community of the past 24 hours but it has been like one bad trip.

All that could be said by members was said.
Now it's up to the mods, Steve, and Sawg to sort it out.
We as members should trust in them to come up with
the right decisions for our forum,
and trust that they keep us informed.
I do.
