Typo agression thread
I make quite a lot of typos and they are always the same ones. I'm not going to start using Meavis beacon or anything but they are starting to annoy me.
I always do thing like: don;t donlt which is annoying because I can type pretty quick apart from that. I miss caps out from the start of sentances a lot etc. This means I always have to read through what I type with a fine tooth comb, even here in the forums when it doesn't matter too much. I get to the point when I just can't be arsed fixing them. "We think science is interesting and if you disagree, you can fuck off." |

Run through it with a spellchecker when finished. Let it worry about your errors.

I learned how to type before I was handwriting (cursive, not print) and I am typo-queen, I try and make my fingers go faster than they can and end up with 'hte' quite a bit. The trick is to read as you type that way you can catch mistakes as you are making them, making it easier to correct.
[edit]I may catch spelling mistakes, but grammer is beyond my capabilites[edit] |

I do that quite often as well. I'm not quite good enough to type without looking at the keyboard, so I get the same typos constantly.
"teh" "can'y" "don'y" etc. . . .

i am easily the worst speller in this entire community. im also horrible with things like capatalization (not because i don't know when to, but because i dont feel like it). same goes for other grammer shit.
only reason I spelled most of these words right was because I was kinda being half concious about what I write. my question is, why can't they enable that VB feature which lets you spell check your posts? i forget which forum uses it, but I've been to a few that have and it made my life so much easier. if i want to spell chack, I have to copy my text, open word, paste it, spell check it, copy it again and paste it back over my original text. that sucks compared to just pressing one button built into the forums. |

damn shame that QWERTY keyboards are designed to make people type slow...
I need to buy and learn a Dvorak keyboard. |

Hehe. I always proof-read my posts. I don't trust spell-checkers with my grammar. On about 70% of my posts, I'll use edit at least once. You can tell when I'm tired / pissed off, because I start missing out capital letters and making typos.

Get yerself a copy of the game "TYPE OR DIE",
also known as "TYPING OF THE DEAD". Killing zombies is a nice way to become a very fast typist who makes few errors! Good luck! "Nothing really matters much to me"-Freddie Mercury |
