Which is the best news service?
I considered putting this in GT, but since this is the News forum, i thought that it would be better placed here.
Which do you think is the best news service? I personally belive the BBC to be the best, because they have up to date stories, the stories are presented with a real feeling of emotion, andthe story is not biased. If it needs to be said, it will be said. All points of view are taken into account, and a fair summary of both sides of the argument is given. |

I totally agree with you Bilbo Baggins.
I never listen to or watch any news here in America because it's all biased in one direction or another. BBC's news is quite good. But then from Canada, there's Naked News.... I did watch that one time and the funny thing was... their news was great. Very well done without any bias or opinion.

The BBC seams very leftist so no wonder Bilbo likes it. I personally prefer Channel4 news, very good content and an hour long program. I don't like 30min news programs, there is no way you can cram all the news into that time frame. They have good arguements and discussions, are non-biased, cover a lot more stories than anywhere else and in dpeth.

My homepage is www.bbc.co.uk
Gives me the headlines (and sport news - just as important.) In the car and at home I listen to BBC Radio 5, which on it's own is worth the licence fee in my opinion. [EDIT: silly typos] There's no need to tell me when I'm right; I operate on that principle exclusively and with absolute certainty |

I reckon definitely the BBC has the best news service - both their TV news and http://news.bbc.co.uk site. Also good is http://www.helsinki-hs.net, for world news with a Scandinavian-bias!
Of course considering the amount that the BBC con us out of for the privelige of watching TV... £150 (for the color license) x probably about 30 million households with a TV set gives £4,5 billion in revenue. And that doesn't include sales of BBC books, dvds, and other merchandise, or the revenues they get from selling the programming abroad... |

I would say the WB or UPN is the lowest common denominator...
I watch Fox news mainly for the O'Reilly factor (that statement'll win me some fans im sure) and the Neil Cavuto program. |

Bilbs, a keynote of leftist ideology is the appeal to humanity and emotion (think of the children!) rather then logic and pragmatism. So any news report which is emotional can be considered leftist.
I'm a fan of ABC. Of all the newscasts, there has the highest production values. Heh... aesthetics mean a lot to me I also enjoy DW when I get a chance to watch it. Unfortunately, I'm not a regular subscriber

Fox Fan here as well, a network that many times will criticize the left and it's political correctness which foamed from the media, especially CNN.
O'Reilly is probably half the reason I watch it, he's a moderate who also exposes the left with their communist agendas and lawsuits over saying "God" in a patriotic song or banning the pledge of allegiance for "offending" minorities in Berkeley (home of liberals). It's trully amazing what NOW (Nazi Organization of Women) and ACLU (American Commies and Liberals Union) will do to destroy the constitution and how much of their actions never are brought up on the leftist media. Oh and you never hear MSNBC say only Microsoft os's are at risk spreading and infection of about every virus outbreak

Of the American news services I like Fox.
"Fair and balanced" is their motto. Sometimes yes and sometimes no. But generally better than the biased liberal media elsewhere.

I am in no way a fan of CNN.
But the other morning b4 I left for school, I found the most incredibly pretty and high-spirited lady doing the news. She actually looked like she was having fun. What a relief from the ordinary newscasters. I really like Robin Meade. ![]() and a better (but larger) image: Robin |

It's good, then, that we are not using telepathic news, or we'd all be subject to more evil concocted spin from the government!

I've seen that sawg.
Funny stuff indeed. That "sexy" commercial really turned into another public relations nightmare for CNN. You'd think they'd know by now, as long as they've been around. And by the way, how could they say that anyway, when clearly Robin Meade is far sexier???
