BBC Radio 1 ogg update

This from the BBC ogg folks:
Quote:
Update (2002-02-08): Heh, ok, it was about time I updated this page and gave links to the live streams which most people are no doubt aware that we now have permission to continue streaming. Currently there is a Radio 4 stream, and two Radio 1 streams using different quality settings to ices. The _low is using -q 0, whilst the _high is using -q 3. I'd be interested to know if anyone can tell much difference between them (challenge for all you audiophiles out there Hopefully soon I'll be able to test some of the latest CVS code and try to accomodate the modem users among you.
You can go here to the home page and find the two stream links.
Let him know what you think and keep up the support
for ogg streaming.

Ogg kicks Reals butt!!!

If theres any mods looking in,
could you move this to the News Forum.
I think I should have put it there to start with,
since it's more of a news update.
Thanks.
<edit>
Wow...quick work.
Thanks again

To my ears there is a slight difference between the low and high.
The high has a fuller sound, from bass to midrange to highs.
Try both the _low-q 0 and the _high-q 3, and judge for yourself.
I'd be interested to hear what someone else thinks.

And why would someone lock this thread?
