It filters only if you have setup your address book to only recieve e-mail from those people in your inbox, and junk mail to the people I don't know. Also I do set it up to get e-mail from pop3 accounts like yahoo.

Huh? I send all my email; Yahoo, Hotmail, everything else to my 'ISP' email account(complete with pr0n filter ), so I can read it all using Outlook Express 6 (works nicely with WinME) (Yes, I use OE6. So bite me ).

This is because, as you may already have noticed, I like things to be easy.

I use OE as well, but when you're on the go, using Hotmail's services to retrieve Yahoo!'s mail, is convenient.

Unless Microsoft decide to broadcast your password to the world. I'd rather use the old excite.com, that had better mail fetching and kept your password hidden. My account still got whacked at the changeover, though , so I don't know what the new version is like.

[edit]Wow, it didn't get whacked after all. My account is still running!

Shit! all my stored messages are gone! I had shitloads of jokes and useful links stored in there! The bastards! [/e]

I had my account re-activated @excite.com, unfortunately since I don't use that e-mail address much, nothing changed.

I've noticed that when using Trillian and click 'Check Hotmail,' the same thing happens to me that happened to Radioactive Man. That is, it displays my username and password (for a few seconds - easily long enough to capture a screen shot). However, when I use Windows Messenger (Windows XP) and click on the link that displays how many new messages I have in my inbox, it does not display my username or password in the window that opens. Even when logging into hotmail from hotmail.com, it does not display my username or password.

So is this a flaw in Trillian? Does the same thing happen to others?

It is not a flaw in Trillian. MSN Messenger simply uses the http POST method instead of GET (GET uses a URL to send additional information to a web page). Both POST and GET http methods can be intercepted.

There is only so much of those porn emails and constant spam that you can take! I use hotmail for one thing - for signing up to web things and for some other people cos its fast and easy to use.
My real email account i use (no junk so far) is with Orange.net

Its slower but it sends me an sms whenever i get an email!

guys, don't bitch to hotmail about broadcasting your password. It's trillian to blame! (it doesn't do it with messenger or the regular login)

Hey, dont diss Trillian! It's a great fast reliable program that has made my life alot easier! I now have only one program for ICQ, AOL and Yahoo!

hey I like trillian too... I just would like it better if it didn't give out my hotmail pass (not that I get anything but junk mail anyways)

Perhaps reading a thread before posting on it might be a good idea.

Trillian doesn't 'broadcast' your password anymore or less than hotmail or Messenger do.
