Wink Screenfull - upcoming skin, gimme ideas & help ;)

hey everone, wondering why i have been away for awhile? (no i was no pissed/stoned.... all the time) iv been working on a new skin 'screenfull' (ironic hey ) gimme some tips and shit and i need a scripter to help me with a script to get it to find the edges of the screen and resize the skin to it, dont have a clue how to do that.

Screenful - MAIN SCREEN

Screenfull - MEDIA/CINEMA/MINIBROWSER/SHOUTCAST/CONFIGURIFICATION/SKINS/COLOUR PRESETS

on screenfull 1, i need to fill that empty box with something, but i dunno what. (the one in the top left section, bottom left box.)

i want to add more texture to it, but what texture and where do you rekon it would be best?

all the media library and shit is just cropped screenshots and will be different colours.

sorry but i don't really like the colors at all it just looks cheap(for the lack of a better word)if you fix up the graphics some i will help you scripting your skin. It may take me a wile since i already am working on my next skin and i am already helping someone else with their scripting.

hm, i don't really like the design. if it's full screen than it should be something that really catches your eye, something that tells you to keep winamp maximized and i wonder what happens if somebody has two screens. i for example have two desktops (-> two monitors) each with a different resolution. corneramp already had problems finding the right edge

I would say that my initial reaction was, "this sucks" but that would be cold and brutal and I would never do that. I AM willing to say that I don't think I'd ever use it for reasons to numerous to mention.

Maybe I will like the next version.

dude i love the idea ! but the execution could be better.

Imagine this simple and large interface you would have in a futuristic home where a party is being held you'd want this awesome full screen skin with big buttons for ease of use , and it gotta look cool

i think that if you are going to have it fullscreen, then the buttons should be large, nice big fat buttons.

Yea

A full screen skin should defiently be something clean and easy to look at. Well your amatuer and textured bevels are not exactly suitable for such a skin.

i like the more classic smooth one ... but maybe you can find some tutorials ... just make it simple and slick ... i don't even think u would need the Media Library in there ...

ooo another idea ... for the playlist, i wouldn't put it on the main screen as well ... if you want the playlist, you click a button on the main screen and it takes you to a HUGE playlist (and thats it) you choose the songs, the order, blah blah blah, and click "main" button to return to the main screen...

so basically everything comes back to the Main screen which is the base for all other screens

I'm the IE maker

HI

I'm working too on the fullscreen problem.
See the StaticCornerAmp's script, as I did too.
But it's a probem with the taskbar's position!
I think I have to make a preferences component for my skin.

have somebody a better idea?

I really like the titlebar and the frame, it's just the inner part that needs to be redone.

www.phong.com has some really good tutorials.

They're aware of the problem with using the viewPortWidth/Height and the taskbar when trying to make a fullscreen skin. I don't know what they plan on doing to fix it, but they are at least aware of it.

I don't think it's a really a problem with graphics.
To my eye there's no real continuity/flow to your scheme.
Like those swooping things around the left area, they don't really
fit. When people say clean, I think they mean "neat" or "Tidy"
Clean when it comes to skin design is more a matter of well fitting
parts. And tightness on the whole.

No what you do though. I will be hard to make this skin look great.
It's size is what the problem is. I requires more detail. Add a
border of some sort and blend it to your background.

Plus it needs an added color. Something to offset the background.

These are just my suggestions and thoughts. Good luck.

screenfullv2 - 2

worked on the play, pause, etc buttons a bit, lil more layout tweaking, still need some icons for the side panel (help me! ). is the whole lot too dark? i think my monitor is bright.

note: the playlist and media library are just screenshots put directly into the pic to show you where they go.

yes colour scemes will be a big thing in the skin, i think they will look real good, i aim to have a very complex and advance colour preset system.

i think i might redo the buttons, they do look munted.

has anyone ideas for the icons, wat they recon would be best? (icons, words, icons+words)?

should i work more on the gfx? add more detail or do you like the simpleness? wat should i do with the background?

Is it possible to make a script so that the color changes automatically after a given time? I think that if you had a fullscreen skin, such as this one, it would be pretty cool. I'm guessing that a fullscreen skin would probably be used most at parties and the color changing would then be a big hit too.

probably not before b4, as the script relies on submenus in popup menus, which are totally borked in b3.
oh, and i can't find that pong program will have a look on another machine where it might be soon.
