made in china

(cheep plastic)

this is a new skin.

imagine that

it is kinda based on something but I don't remember what it is

most suggestions are welcome
(if you suggested that I go out onto the freeway and throw myself infront of oncoming traffic, that would not be a welcome suggestion)

I'm pretty sure I don't like the volume/balance

I'm also pretty sure I know half of what I'm going to change it to
but suggestions for that will still be welcome (proably)

it looks much better with what I ahve done of the eq on the botton of it, but I've done so little of the eq that I didn't attach it

Notcice that if you make skins like these that the user might want to change the position and order of the diffrent components. So what I intend to say is. What happens if I would place the EQ next or above the MAIN? You could get some serious strange looking combinations.
This is not to discourage you to work further on this skin, but it's just a little suggestion you could think about when making a/this skin.

You are right about the volumebar. somehow i think it would be better if you made it a bit more simple. Since the skin is very straightforward and the volume just breaks the whole concept.

I would worry about that, but, since I really just skin for myself (but I like to share), and I don't put them in anydifferent order ever, I'm not

alot of my other skins are ok in different configurations, but I think that if I made this one that way it would look crappy

It's a hard call as to whether to skin to make the placement of the different components not matter, sometimes I link the main/eq window if it looks better, but i make sure the playlist/minibrowser look ok in different possitions as theyre the parts people tend to move around more...

Hey Supey, this is very nice (if this is mspaint...how did you achieve the bevel effect? :bows: )
Put a green border around the flat area and I'm happy.

He might be, I actually don't know. Based on this thread, I would say he isn't. But if he is, then he is some real talented bastard (not ment as a objection)

no, I didn't do this in MSPaint, although I do do alot in MSPaint. I could probably achieve a similar style in Paint, but I would only be barely done with the main window by now

oh, and those aren't bevels, they're drop shadows

Yes, bevel is acheivable in MSPaint. I am a true MSPaint skinner.

Not extremely good bevel is always easy in MSPaint. Good bevel is a deep, 3-D feel, and that takes a long time and a lot of changing of shades. Sometimes, I put a two-pixel bevel on my buttons, e.g. with a white button, using a darker shade of grey on two perpindicular (sp?) sides (usually bottom and right side) and a lighter shade of grey again on the same sides on the inside.

Nice skin, btw, but if you're planning to submit it (which I doubt you are), as mentioned before, the substitution of windows will be a problem.

i think its cool. i like the way that the grey runs through the skin in bursts kinda, if you know what i mean. it dosnt look plastic, though, i think it is really hard to make plastic look right. anyway, bevels are acheivable (but a lot of work at the corners check the link in my sig ) mspaint skinning will never die- and i am sketching plans for an mspain wa3 skin...

I don't know any coding so I'll probably never make a WA3 skin, unless someone is talented enough to make a WA3 coding program, in which you simply drag and drop the buttons, windows, etc.

MSPaint skinning for WA3 is going to be a bit of a pain because I think, and correct me if I'm wrong, that the images for WA3 skins must be in png format, and MSpaint doesn't support png's. that means you would have to open each graphic in another program and re-save it, which would be a bit dedious

yeah, it is slightly different, but I don't know how to fix it...it's the same color in hex

I've had this problem on other skins too...the only way I know to fix it is to go back and change every part of bg green to the color that's in the playlist, and I don't really feel like doing that because it doesn't bother me that much

because it doesn't need to be unzipped to be used...

Winamp recognizes .zip's as skins so just download it to your skins directory then open it...
