Copyrights for audio...how legal is it to...
Hi,
I've been having a lot of trouble finding the answer to my question, if I don't find the answer here then I'll never find it. I made a few audio loops from some well known copirighted songs and integrated them to my website using flash. I give full credit to the artists, I never use more then 15 seconds of songs that range from 3 to 6 minutes, there's no way they could be recovered and reused because the tunes are loaded from a parent movie (in a different location) and look for a certain variable within the parent flash movie in order to play. My site is non commercial, nothing is sold and there is no advertisment. I'm not sure if it's a violation of copyrights; I've often seen some very low budget movies and documentarys using well known tunes...maybe they got permission from the artist/company? The way I see it, what I'm doing isn't any different from brodcating with shoutcast wich is legal... It's not something I want to keep permanantly but I just opened the site 10 days ago and while I'm still far from reaching my monthly bandwith allowance I figure I might as well use the bandwith somehow. You can have a look (non engligh site): http://3wpro.net So am I violating copyrights and is it serious? |
