The government tracking down individuals illegally d/ling music?
Someone on another message board I frequent said that he knows a lawyer who is involved with a plan to prosecute P2P file-sharing users individually. This person said that the lawyer told him that it is best to get rid of all evidence of downloading music from his computer. There is supposedly going to be a "huge check" on people who download music illegally and they will be prosecuted. According to this guy, the lawyer looked very grave and serious when she told him this.
Personally, I don't think it's possible to catch and prosecute each person individually. It would cost the government an enormous amount of money and energy in a time where there are more important things to focus on. It wouldn't be worth it. MILLIONS of people download music in the US and to prosecute each and every one of us would be ridiculous.
What are your thoughts?
