it would be nice to combine them, but the purpose of the Winamp2 Plug-in manager is to simply provide backwards compatibility with Winamp2, whereas RM-X is being designed around the new features found in Winamp3.

open the RM-X config window, go to API-KB, and select a page.

click on one of tha areas that says "[NONE]" and then press a button on the keyboard, and then select an item from the list that you want that button to do.

That doesn't work. It just launches windows media player. In the old buggy version, I could set the keys, but this one doesn't detect the key presses. In the old version, when I pushed a button that would usually open up windows media player, it didn't. BTW, I have compaq internet keyboard.

Couldn't you use the same button press deting thing as the lat version, or was that buggy? BTW, RM-X was the only thing I could find that would make my keyboard work with something except windows media player. Um..I really can't find much for my computer now since Compaq merged with HP.

Thanks. Another question, is there any way to make the volume bar correspond to the volume? I set throttle 1 to control the volume, but it just detects if it's past or below the middle.

"Throttle Volume" is coming in the near future (as in the very next release). this was planned from the begining, but i had some problems in the code i needed to work out, and i think it should work well with the new DX-JOY re-write i am doing for RM-X 0.8

yo! i am looking for some testers of early builds of RM-X 0.8.. everything was totally re-writen from scratch, it hopes that it would be easliy portable to things such as WA2, and a stand-alone version. in the proccess of re-writing it, a countless amount of bugs have ben found and fixed, new things are beeing added, and support for hardware has increased alot.

for RC-MAN, i have added some improvements here and there if both IntelliRemote and RemoteCenter are running at the same time.

for DX-JOY, this has been a 100% total code re-write. sooo much krap was broken/unoptimized before. i am now working on "Throttle Volume" "8-Directional POV" and "Axis Deadzone"

for API-KB, instead of checking either a vkCode or a ScanCode, it now checks both at the same time, meaning that almost everything should work now.

everything else for now (including NetSlave) is currently disabled. i havnt spent much time yet on anything other than the 3 main sub-components of RM-X.

yes, ill send ya a copy when its ready.

earlier we was talkin about the ATI RemoteWonder on IM, right? well, guess what? i just spent the past hour or two playing around with their SDK, re-working the remote to work with RM-X.

RM-X 0.8.0 will have a plug-in for the "ATI Remote Wonder v1.2" software application, wich allows it to interface with RM-X Core 0.8 and up.

configuration of the remote will then be done using the RM-X GUI. as for those 6 customizable buttons, those should be left to their default setting in the ATI software for RM-X to pick them up, other then that, everything else should work.

ummm, your confusing me here...

you set up the prev and next track buttons on your remote, right?
and then you hit the next button on your rmeote?
and then it goes to the next track?
but it is still displaying the previous track?

if i got all of this right, then where is it displaying the previous track at? in the main window of the skin? in the playlist editor?

Mayba a Bug

I will try to explain what happens everytime a hit the next button:

I saw this in the playlist window how is happening, here is an example playlist:

1.song1
2.song2
3.song3
4.song4
5.song5

if I'm listening to song1, and I hit the next button winamp starts playing song2 but in the playlist window and in the main window display song3, if I hit the next button again winamo starts playing song3, but displays song5.

I hope this is explains a little better whats is the problem I have.

Gee... Thanks! Guess I don't need to whisper now!

The drive uses "Infra Detector" or "Infra Manager". There is this component called Infra Amp that I used along with the Plugin Manager for Winamp3. Used to work perfectly till I installed XP pro! The Infra Manager then refused to install on XP and finally got the Infra Manager for Win2000 from the Creative site. The installation went of fine, but, the Infra Amp just refused to do the right things! Pressing the play button on the remote skipped "N" (some random number) of songs and played the next one. Sometimes, the same button did not play any song, but reduced the volume Again, the button to skip 5 secs skipped about 2 minutes. The remote works fine on the CDrom itself, so I guess the driver / infra manager itself is ok!

Got sick of it and unloaded the Infra Amp and am now looking up to you, my only hope !

NetSlave status.... hmmm... gimmie about 2 more weeks then i will give you a real status update. by then, RM-X 0.8 should have enough of it done that i can start working on NetSlave again. just keep checking back. itll EVENTUALLY come! i promis

RM-X has been, for a while, my fav plug-in. Amazing...

Anyway, on your website it has pictures of a really sexy version 0.8, but there is no means of downloading it.

did you make sure it was correctly configured within RM-X? check the RC-MAN configurations.

and, are you using a SB-LIVE or SB-AUDIGY?

No dice I even configured it under remotecenter and remotewonder and still nothing.

I'm on Windows XP and have never installed remotecenter on this install of XP (I've used the remote before, but I've formatted since then).

How did I test the remote you ask? I pointed it at my webcam and hit a button and saw it light up (You can see infrared on the webcam).

Thanks for your help, anymore ideas?

ok, for now i would just say hold off until i get a little more of the configuration done for RC-MAN.

if i remember correctly from the docs i got from the guy that made IntelliRemote, the reciever may not be on the default device on the Audigy, and therefor, there needs to be a way to pick what device it is using. i will try to get this added sometime within the near future.

if you are using RM-X 0.7.x, it should intercept the RemoteCenter messages and use the RC-MAN configuration to handle them. in RM-X 0.8 Alpha 1, RemoteCenter support isnt working yet. it will be in alpha 2 tho, as this is actually what i am coding while posting on the boards right now.
