Annoying Windows Error

Hi guys,

Lately I've been getting this Windows error very frequently (attached below). It usually pops up once ever few new explorer windows I open. If I do not click on the message and simply slide it off the screen I can continue working as normal, but my computer seems to slow down a bit and takes forever to shut down. What exactly is this error and how can I remedy it? I am using Windows 98-SE, I have had the problem before but it has become overwhelming within the last month or so. Please help.... thanks.

Thats just IE for you. It actually will do that sometimes if you have a few windows open, or it encounters an error on the page etc... Think of it as Bill's friendly little reminder your using his proprietary software.

To remedy: dont know. Sorry, but if you have cable, try reinstalling your browser, that's what I did anyway and it worked.

"Welcome to the Island of people who know too much."..."Did you really think balloons would stop him?!"
See what I'm listening too.

Internet Explorer
version: 5.50.4807.2300
cipher strength: 128 bit

should I upgrade?

*GoldenSphinx86, to take any type of screenshot just press the printscreen button on your keyboard and then paste it into your favorite image editor. I just cropped the screenshot.

Alt+Printscreen gives you just the active window. No cropping required.

i invested in win2k (cost 20 min to download it). then about 99% of those stupid explorer/iexplorer errors stopped. later i moved to winxp, just as much as stable.

so basically my solution... upgrade if ya can.

Yes, do upgrade. I had the same problem as you. Find a disk in a pc magazine and install Explorer 6 where there are fixes to common problems!

also.. I know how to upload file attachments but how do you upload the picture onto the thread like Boplicity did? (sorry, i am a dumb ass!)

Yes i agree. This can help but it can also do f-all to your problem! I unfortunately recieved the f-all option when i had iE5.
iE6 rocks and i love the new features. Also i noticed, if you HAVENT got XP and you install iE6 from a disk you have LESS new features!
I wonder why??

Such as? Also, would installing from a disk have the same effect as windows update?

1) Upload the file to your site
2) When typing your message include the file name with image tags

example:

(img)http://home.rochester.rr.com/boplicity/error.jpg(/img)

*replace ( ) with [ ]

Thanks for the help! Again, a quick upgrade to IE6 should sort out your problems! Good luck!
