Can't get AVS to stop running full screen

Whenever I run the AVS visualization, it automatically goes full screen. My only option is to stop it. It runs in the background on my desktop. In other words, I can run other apps on top of it with it running full screen.

How can I make this stop so I can actually select what and how it is displaying?

Preferences (Ctrl-P) > Plug-ins > Visualization > Select "Advanced Visualization Studio " > Hit "Start" > Double click in the AVS Window > Settings Menu > Display > UNcheck "Overlay mode"

Double clicking doesn't do anything. There is no "window" it runs full screen on my desktop.
