What the hell?

I received a message entitled "RECUP," from someone named "Standard." Now, inside the email is an attachment entitled, "RECUP.DOC.bat"... And apparently, it has no viruses.

The email follows:

Does anyone have an idea what the hell this is? I don't know the person. Don't recognize their email address. And I'm not going to open the file.

i used to get those once a week for about 2 months, i just always deleted them, i just figured it was a virus, i never ran a scan though.

I'm thinking it's a bad attempt at a virus. The person is using .DOC.BAT. Since Windows default to not showing extension, you're left with .DOC. Windows execute the last 3 real extension (.BAT), and you run a batch file. That batch file might have some lines that delete your files. Rename the .DOC.BAT to .TXT and edit it with notepad.

check with Adaware for spyware
and if u choose not to...just throw out the file!!!!!!

People make new viruses every day....no ones ever 100% safe..takes a while for anti virus software to catch up.

I get emails like that at least once a week...

Just forward them to people you dont like when you see an attachment with what appears to be two file extensions.

Or delete it.

I love Adaware! But i also love the service of iMesh because WinMX hardly every bloody connects the songs! It says queue or whatever!

Don't open it, I used to get at least 3 copies of this virus when it was prevelent. Just today I got another copy in my mail box. Below is what my Yahoo scan said as well as the original message. The picture is cropped and edited.
