how to let others hear my music?

i connect to internet via LAN by sygate, our Lan server also connects to internet via Cable Modem with an IP 10.16.1.179,
i have made the server as a shoutcast server, but it can be heard only by our LAN users,they can hear my music by play a locate 192.168.0.1:8000, but i want to broadcast to internet, how ?

well the server needs to be accessible from the internet,
so if your useing a gateway, you need to setup port forwarding, and make sure that the shoudcast server has a live ip adress, and no just a 129.168.*.* address.

try going into your router setup and look for a setting titled "DMZ Host" or something similar, put your computer's ip in there. should work.

you may need to open up some ports to if you're behind a firewall which you probably are.

but i still cant understand how to setup port something to make my
server have a live IP,our LAN server connects internet by Cable Modem
with an IP 10.16.1.* ,gateway,10.16.1.1, DNS:211.97.196.1
OS is WinNT4.0.
plz help !

10.16.1.179 is an internal IP assigned to you by a server/gatteway from your ISP.You wont be able to have people hook up to you from that IP. Phone your ISP and ask them if they can give you a Class 3 IP.

We use 10. IP's on our ADSL system as giving out Class C IP's gets pretty expensive once you have enough customers. Most customers wont have a use for a Class C IP so we give them an internal IP. If they need to have an extenal IP they can request it from us and we'll assigned it to them.

I meant Class C not Class 3. You know how easy it is to mix those 3's and C's
