Okay, now before you go and say, "...didn't you check through the forums?", let me start by saying YES, I did. I read through the forums for about 9 hours, plus spent about 5 hours with a current SHOUTcast user, and between the two of us we're stumped.
Now that THAT'S out of the way, let me get you up to speed....
* I'm running hte SHOUTcast server on the same machine I'm broadcasting from. BOTH SHOUTcast server AND WinAmp Plug-In are configured properly, as according to SHOUTcast suggestion and my system.
* I am using a CISCO 675 DSL router and LAN'ing that to my PC. I am using MSN's DSL. According to the fine-folks at MSN tech support (a bit of an oxymoron in terms,) I have an "inside" IP address of 10.0.0.2, and and actualy "outside" IP of 126.96.36.199
Upon starting the SERVER I get the following messages:
<05/04/02@13:44:26> [SHOUTcast] DNAS/win32 v1.8.9 (Mar 15 2002) starting up...
<05/04/02@13:44:26> [main] loaded config from C:\Program Files\SHOUTcast\sc_serv.ini
<05/04/02@13:44:26> [main] initializing (usermax:50 portbase:8000)...
<05/04/02@13:44:26> [main] No ban file found (sc_serv.ban)
<05/04/02@13:44:26> [main] No rip file found (sc_serv.rip)
<05/04/02@13:44:26> [main] opening source socket
<05/04/02@13:44:26> [main] source thread starting
<05/04/02@13:44:26> [main] opening client socket
<05/04/02@13:44:26> [main] error opening client socket! FATAL ERROR! Some other process is using this port!
<05/04/02@13:44:26> [source] listening for connection on port 8001
I've tried changing the Portbase # about a hundred times now, to no avail.
In my sc_serv file, I've assigned: DestIP=188.8.131.52 (my actual "outside" IP) [have attached my sc_serv file here as well.)
There is no problem with the connection (to the best of my idea) between WinAmp and the SHOUTcast server, because after I get the above message, I can hit CONNECT on the WinAmp plug-in, and get the following message on the SHOUTcast Server Module:
<05/04/02@13:44:30> [source] connected from 127.0.0.1
<05/04/02@13:44:31> [source] icy-name:#### WE DANCE AS ONE #### ; icy-genre
<05/04/02@13:44:31> [source] icy-pub:1 ; icy-br:56 ; icy-url:http://www.shoutcast.com
<05/04/02@13:44:31> [source] icy-irc:n/a ; icy-icq:n/a ; icy-aim:TriAndrew2001
Then it just sits there.... that's it. Thoughts? ...while you're thinking, let me add the following. There are a few other pieces of software I'm having minor problems. In using anything like AIM, MSN Messenger, of Yahoo Messenger, I have no problem chatting, but during any sort of file transfer, I can receive files, but usually cannot SEND files. According to MSN (grrrr...) there are NO FIREWALLS anywhere on their DSL service, and I have no firewall software running on my system, nor Anti-Virus running. I'm using Win98-Second Edition.
There ya go. I hope I've included everything. I think that after this week, I now own stock in TYLENOL.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can be reach via email at:
