Help with Photoshop Scratch Disks
Hi all, I'm having a problem opening a .psd file in photoshop, it comes up with an error message saying something like "cannot open file because the scratch disks are full" The file is only around 20Mb and I have no other files open. I have no idea what to do, please help.
If you think you can or think you can't...you're right. |

![]() Kiwi, you could check your scratch-disk settings in photoshop. Many who live deserve death, some who die deserve life - can you give it to them? Then be not so quick to deal out death in judgement. |

It's not a special disk, it's the way photoshop names the disk where it writes the temporary information.

I was just passing through on my way somewhere else,
and saw this. Hope I'm not to late to help. From Adobe Online Help: "When your system does not have enough RAM to perform an operation, Photoshop and ImageReady use a proprietary virtual memory technology, also called scratch disks. A scratch disk is any drive or a partition of a drive with free memory. By default, Photoshop and ImageReady use the hard drive that the operating system is installed on as its primary scratch disk." To correct this error: Scratch Disk is Full. (This is a question on the ACE exam) Brought to you by your friendly little Photoshop Wizard.Se ya later... |
