The Official 3dMark 2001 Challenge

The contest: To see who has the most 31337 box at the forums by comparing your 3dmark score to the other users on the forums.
What is 3dmark you may ask? Well its a gamers benchmarking program that rates your computer on the 3d processing power it has. After you run the benchmarking program it gives you a score. That is your 3dmark score and that is what you want to compare with the other users.

The Program: You will need a copy of 3dmark 2001SE which can be downloaded from
http://gamershq.madonion.com/download/?3dmark2001.shtml

The Rules: In order so there is no way you can cheat you will have to save your scores online with madonions online score section. To do this , after you run the bench and you get the results page, there will a button that says either "update online scores" or "save online scores" it will have something to do with online. You click it and it will take you to a registeration page. Register your name or nickname or whatever but with a WF (Winamp Forums) behind it. EX i will register myself as "Nofx_Guy|WF" this is so we will know it is you from the forums and not you linking so someone elses score. Once you get this all done you post your score and link to your madonion 3dmark score user section so we can verify your score. The person with the highest score wins , simple as that. Anything is allowed to get a better score i.e overclocking ect ect ect . Also post your pc specs along with your score, only the specs valid to the score like the mobo, chip, vid card and ram.

so let the benchmarking begin!!

One of mine from a few weeks ago.

5145 3DMark2001 points with default settings, ie 1024x768 etc.

http://service.madonion.com/compare?2k1=3560662

Leadtek Winfast GeForce3 Ti200 128Mb
512Mb PC100 RAM

Shit motherboard and memory, that's why it's so low for a GF3

You can get it on magazine coverdisks as well, I got it off PCGamer (DVD version) - I think it's on the CD-ROM version as well

The highest score I've ever heard of is 12999, an overclocked P4 @ 3GHz...

Im not sure if this works but that my score - 2704.

apparently my score is crap for my card.

My pc has a AMD Athlon XP 2000+ processor, 512MB RAM and has a Geforce 2 MX 400.

Should i use anything to tweak the card to make things better?

If so, has anyone got a link please?

thanks

Theres no way im winning...But i've got a chance for the fastest pc with an MX400 here...3,321@1024x768 32bit color, AA off...

Core@227mhz (default 175)
Memory@190mhz (default 160)

AMD Athlon 1.4@1.68 (140fsb 12x Multiplier) Doesnt run too stable at that tho..But enough to run 3dmark...
ASUS A7V266
Kingmax PC2100 Ram...blah blah blah...

Hmm...Then again i could go out and spend $15,000 overclock it to within an inch of its life and whip everyones ass but whats the point?? It's just a number..And numbers dont make the l337357 box...

Easy, PM me and I will burn 3DMark2001SE on a disk and post it to you.

Can I ask, if your pc doesn't have an internet connection then how the hell are you talking to us?
