didn't they used to be about the fringe of the music world? catering to the tastes that the mainstream was too scared to touch?

i seem to recall alice cooper and dee sneider and uhh... poison, and whitesnake, etc.

(you know, "play the gui-TAR on the mtv")

now it's all about seeing how many jailbait girls they can get screaming outside times square

i have a hunch mtv lost it's cred when it started catering more to girls... any arguments on that one?
