how the programing works?

ok i need some one to email me at fire_demon1369@hotmail.com
i would like to know if winamp runs off the Hard drive or uses ram to store music, i would like to know this, i have been leaving my computer on i realized that my hard drive is still spinning even when i tell xin xp to shut down hds after say like 2 hours. if you can help me i would really love to know, this a very hard question, not somthing most people would know.

ok its 230 am im going to bed now

the hard drive, winamp buffers very little of the actual mp3, and if you are changing songs, then of course, it has to read it off the drive
