Was working... but not now
Ok, I had the server working 2 hours ago, and now it just stopped working. I try to connect, but it does not list on shoutcast.com. Heres the server message I get:
Event log: <06/09/02@21:15:06> [SHOUTcast] DNAS/win32 v1.8.9 (Mar 15 2002) starting up... <06/09/02@21:15:06> [main] loaded config from C:\Program Files\SHOUTcast\sc_serv.ini <06/09/02@21:15:06> [main] initializing (usermax:100 portbase:8000)... <06/09/02@21:15:06> [main] No ban file found (sc_serv.ban) <06/09/02@21:15:06> [main] No rip file found (sc_serv.rip) <06/09/02@21:15:06> [main] opening source socket <06/09/02@21:15:06> [main] source thread starting <06/09/02@21:15:06> [main] opening client socket <06/09/02@21:15:06> [source] listening for connection on port 8001 <06/09/02@21:15:07> [main] Client Stream thread [0] starting <06/09/02@21:15:07> [main] client main thread starting <06/09/02@21:15:13> [source] connected from 24.156.150.127 <06/09/02@21:15:13> [source] icy-name:Explash Radio ; icy-genre:Mix <06/09/02@21:15:13> [source] icy-pub:1 ; icy-br:56 ; icy-url:http://www.explash.******** <06/09/02@21:15:13> [source] icy-irc:#shoutcast ; icy-icq:128158168 ; icy-aim:Explash <06/09/02@21:15:14> [dest: 205.188.234.74] starting stream (UID: 0)[L: 1]{A: SHOUTcast Directory Tester}(P: 0) <06/09/02@21:15:14> [dest: 205.188.234.74] connection closed (0 seconds) (UID: 0)[L: 0]{Bytes: 8192}(P: 0) <06/09/02@21:15:15> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com added me successfully As you can see, it trys to connect then closes immediately after. Nothing is wrong. That is just your station getting added to the SHOUTcast yp. Every 3 minutes after that you should get an yp_tch which means the yp was updated with the current listener count and track title.

But it still isn't listed on shoutcast. I've got friends to try to connect to me, and it doesnt work, they get "Required resource was not found" or something like that.

Is your server on? I get a 'You are not authorized to view this page' when trying to view your link http://www.explash.********/
The link to give your friends is http://yourserverip:yourserverport |

Yes, the server is up but my website isn't finished just yet, so I don't have a default page that is displayed. The address I gave my friends was explash.********:8000 and it worked, which is basically the same as ip
ort. If you look at the last 3 messages from the ShoutCast server, it closes the streaming connection: <06/09/02@21:15:14> [dest: 205.188.234.74] starting stream (UID: 0)[L: 1]{A: SHOUTcast Directory Tester}(P: 0) <06/09/02@21:15:14> [dest: 205.188.234.74] connection closed (0 seconds) (UID: 0)[L: 0]{Bytes: 8192}(P: 0) <06/09/02@21:15:15> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com added me successfully I still don't know how to stop it from closing the connection. |

That is just the Shoutcast yp (yellow pages) touching (in a nice way
) your stream to make sure it is there. It doesn't need to stay connected for very long to determine if your station is up.The yp is not a real listener. If it can find your station (which it does), then you will be listed in the Shoutcast directory. Edit: Yes, I can view your DNAS at http://explash.********:8000 The server was down so I couldn't give it a listen. Looks like you are doing a good job. |

Ok, it seems to be streaming ok now, thanks a lot!
! I still have the problem of not being listed on shoutcast.com though... and also, how do you edit the files or get the info on the files at http://explash.********:8000?

You're listed. See attached image.
As for the second part of your question you cannot alter the look of the default SHOUTcast pages. You need something to get the data and then display it in a user defined format. See the SHOUTcast Toolbox > Current Song Display Tools Tom |
