What the heck is going on?

They say that if your skin is in the "Unpublished" section then you just have to wait two weeks for it to get reviewed, but it's been over SIX WEEKS and I'm getting less patient. I was so hoping that all my months of hard work would be repaied by some insightful comments on my design, and maybe even a 5-star rating. You know, not expecting all that, but hoping.

The thing is, I wouldn't mind so much the wait if someone had told me 6 weeks to begin with - but 2 weeks is a lot different than 6.

Anyway, it would mean a lot to me if i could get some feedback from all of you instead: www.LiquidMethods.com/skins

I made the skin for my girlfriend's site, Breetopia - www.liquidmethods.com/breetopia

I really like Slate a lot better than Iron, but I've found some people like Iron better.

Don't be afraid to give criticisms, btw, they mean just as much to me as positive comments. Thanks a lot

wow, that skin is really cool. especially the volume. about the publishing time... if you update your skin it goes to the end of the que, so if you didn't update it, expect it to be published soon

yep that volume dial really is something special (a bit dark though, i downloaded it earlier and didn't notice the volume until Blackdog mentioned it)
eq bar animation is very nice too...

it's a cool skin, although i personnally couldn't use it without the preamp and eq buttons.

you should post a screenshot here in the thread...

They both look excellent. The transpareny on slate makes it a bit hard to use however. The preamp slider is the one i adjust most. Also, neither have on/auto buttons on the eq, and neither have the avs windows skinned. Perhaps something you could fix in an update.

The skins are nice.I dont like the transparency you used on slate is kinda annoying.

Thanks for all your comments - I guess they should just put something on the submission page to let people know it could take this long.

As for the volume slider, thanks a lot, I am really happy with that. I like the equalizer bars better though

As for the transparency being annoying, I don't know, I adjust my equlizer bars constantly to choose the best dynamic range for my music - but moving preamp slider off center can only flatten out the top or the bottom (repsectivly whichever direction you're moving it) i mean, think about it, if you move it higher, then the highest peaks on your equalizer will be blended with the other higher ones so that those ranges arn't distinguished, and in the end, all you did was make it louder while no longer boosting the ranges you have highest on your equalizer. Therefore, when choosing the shape of my skin, I decided to make this part transparent, because it's really something you shouldn't be adjusting to begin with. :notices someone go to adjust it, slaps hand away... lifts eyebrow:

As far as the no AVS skined - yea, I've noticed that when I unzip other people's skins they have an extra file - the AVS, and the mikro, or is that the same thing? Anyway, I wouldn't know because I have no clue how to even get those things to come up on my winamp, so how could i even know what it looked like without being able to check it. Is this only on new winamps or something?

Avs is a visualisation plugin that comes with winamp. Its been included in as many versions as i can remember. If you havent got it yet, go download winamp 2.80, go to preferences > plugins > visualisations and select Advanced Visualisation Studio. Then you'll see why its worth skinning it.

As for MikroAMP, its a 3rd party plugin that allows winamp control from the systray or a tiny window, as its just 1 bitmap its really easy to skin. Its probably the best plugin for winamp ever made IMO.

Template amp includes templates for both Mikro.bmp and AVS.bmp

From a reviewers point of view, you wont get anything extra in the completeness category for skinning Mikro, but its a nice inclusion. You will however get a higher completeness rating if AVS is skinned.
