Yeah. I think we have to many.

There should be one sticky thread informing n00b's of many FAQ and possibly some major Winamp news. Why should a mod make a sticky thread for their own benefit when other people's slowly move down the pages?

I think the sticky think is overused. If I recall correctly, there was actually a discussion about this a while back, but it might have just been about a single one that stayed sticky overly-long.

Surely the other 3 are even less needed.

and I do appricate ethan_h's sticky thread to do good things.

Only make important threads sticky. None of these other ones.

See what I'm listening too.

I quite like the links one being up there, as i think that that is one of the best threads that we have seen here.

I like Winamprockers idea, add the forum directory to the "How to find then answer" (temporarily know as "Moderators and Whatnot") thread. That would reduce the sickiness of GD. The other threads can probably go by now too.

There are too many. I think rather then make a thread sticky, we should put it in the READ ME FIRST announcement. From time to time, though, it's necessary for the mods to create a two-way dialogue. With that in mind, ethan's hospice thread was perfectly sensible to make sticky. That said, when such a thread has outlived it's purpose, and veered off track, it should be unstuck. Something like the Shoutcast streaming info should be an announcement, because it does not need any feedback from us peons. For things such as photoshop contests and tournament announcements, if enough people are interested, it will become "naturally sticky". No divine intervention required.

'twas my thought as well. If it is stickied and locked, it's quite possible that it would exist better as an announcement.

I like the forums directory one...

But I can't see the problem with the number that there are. They come and go, but are all good.

Ok I have removed some of the stickies. I thought they would be there forever. Hopefully it makes it look a little more tidier now.

I'm not scared of Matt. .........or am I?...
