Its even sadder when the people dont bother changing details like information about the original author, use the same logo, etc.
Me and blackdog discussed those JavaScripts that block viewers from vewing your source code, those may stop some rippers, but most of them can be gotten past. Also many new coders use source code as reference for their pages. I personaly learnt HTML by looking at source code and trying different things. There is no real way to stop them, but a little (c)2002 thingy isnt gona stop em. Most sites using those arnt even copywriten. Offtopic: Skinme, foo, blueballs, kuki and any other webdesigners i neglected to mention, do any of you use CSS layers instead of Tables to set up your page? |

tables. I'm using css to format things, but my experience with layers is not very good.. I used a damned good german html reference site (selfhtml) to learn all the stuff. I'm only looking at the source if i see a cool effect. P.S. Great avatar, btw. Like it. |

i've never used css layers, but everyone says it's better than tables... might check selfhtml for them.

I learnt CSS layering, and it seemed pretty easy. Define the positiion, and just identive the DIV tag. Then i wanted to learn DHTML to add some cool animation effects in my site, but learnt that Netscape and Internet Explorer have totaly different JavaScript synthax for controlling the css layers. According to this webmonkey tutorial i was looking over, you would need a branching statement which identifies the browser (IE, Netscape, Non-supporting), And write different code to do the exact same thing for each one.
DHTML can do some really cool stuff, and thats why i wanted to learn it, but if its gona take that much time and trouble, i think i'l wait till one of the browsers dies :P Also, webmonkey has some really good HTML, JS, XML, and what not tutorials. Their PHP tutorial sucks and teaches you nothing, but back to the point, check out webmonkey. wow... long post...
