Pointless mis-use of thread posting privledges.

omit finally made a blind attempt at reviving his dying Compaq. it was mostly an un-thought out rather clumsy process brought on by the guilt of someone actually donating a brand new printer to us out of charity; they were under the misguided impression that ours was broken. when actually i had just let my computer go to such a degree that it no longer recognized my printer, phone modem, game controllers, certain web sites, and at times disk drives. once i saw the expression of disappointment on the faces of these kind people who thought that their sacrifice was in vain after their their gift failed to work on our blind, deaf, and nearly mute box, i quickly gathered a collection of files, (of course forgot many) in a rather retarded fashion, and prepared for a reset from system save. sadly just trying to begin this covitted reset took most of the day. finally accomplishing as much using various methods of tricking my stubborn, seemingly self-aware, Compaq into accepting the commands given it. so finally refreshed and well (minus many important and loved programs and files that ill probably never have the pleasure to own again...ever) Compaq finally yielded a brilliant print out by means of its spanking new printer; which made the gift givers happy and me just as much satisfied with my efforts of the day. (pause in point of presentation.) alas this afternoon, a day and a half after its rebirth, Compaq once again died. submitting to its monitor program and format errors of every color shape and size. once again beginning the long and brutal downward spiral that will end with it becoming meerly a decoration for the space in-between the desk and the file cabinet. this is not a plea for help, no i assure you tis not. but rather a simple bit of omit misusing his thread posting privilege to tire your eyes and patients with this winded and badly punctuated account of a frustrated people. thank you for spending the amount of time it took you to read this (which you will never get back) for it is greatly appreciated.

A poignant, yes even touching story. As a fellow Compaq owner (but not for much longer, hooray!), I thank you for sharing.

I'm pretty sure the "bashing of office machinery with baseball bats" scene in Office Space was inspired by Compaqs. Thank God I ditched mine... and congrats on actually getting one fixed. Even for just one day, it's quite an accomplishmemt.

So much work in vain has to suck. My HP went through similar trials about a year ago. I know precisely what you're going through.
