bugs, things to (re)implement
I know you're catching a lotta flack on this release, but it's still pretty nice. You'll get there in no time Hopefully this helps! I looked around and couldn't find some, so I figured I'd just post 'em all since it costs the same. Here's a list of the things I've found that I think don't seem to work right so you can take a look at them:
1) When you're doing fullscreen video, if you have two vids that aren't the same size, the video window is resized to the size of the second vid after the first is played in fullscreen. This is true even if you untick the option to resize the window to the video. Maybe you could just call your resize routine on each video as it's opened if fullscreen == 1? I know it's kinda klunky, but that appears to be how WiMP does it. 2) I can't seem to find (and am pretty sure it isn't there anymore) where you can select your sys tray icon. I hope that's not a feature that's going away. I liked that Programs like WinAmp that I just leave going all the time, I like to put over in the sys tray, and it was nice to be able to pick my own icon for WinAmp (and it'd be nice too for when I have 2.80 and 3.0 running at the same time). More glam than anything else, but it should be easy to put back in, I hope. You could put it in the System > Media preferences below the Protect Associations box or System > Display below the Show Winamp In box (I'd prefer the second). 3) alt-w, alt-e, etc. for turning on and off the windows doesn't work anymore, much to my dismay... That was so much easier and faster than right clicking and finding the item in the list. I hope it comes back! please? 4) this is a really stupid one, but it confused me for a while since for some reason I opted not to create start menu icons then went back to do it myself. Is winamp3 always gonna be called studio.exe? will you go back to calling it winamp.exe? I hope? Anyways, I hope I don't sound too much like I'm just bitching... I've seen everyone else just wants to sit back and do that... there are a few things I've liked in WinAmp3 I'm gonna get really used to, tho... like video (goodbye WiMP!), and using the mousewheel for volume... I found that a LOVED it! That's an awesome idea, esp, when you're in fullscreen mode with vids and wanna adjust the volume (since those aren't necessarily all the same). Hey, that made me just think of something, that I didn't try yet, but would be cool if it's there (or gets implemented)... when you're in fullscreen mode, there's still the mouse pointer (hrm, sometimes, I guess when I did it just now, the pointer went away, but no matter)... so what if you used mouse gestures like Opera does for advancing/rewinding/restarting a video? like you hold down the right button and drag left to rewind, right+drag right to advance, and right+drag up then down to restart the current video? that would really rock since you obviously can't have control buttons on a fullscreen display and we also wouldn't have to remember the buttons then Hope this helps y'all out! ttyl, mich |
