Mp3: illegal?

What do you think about that?

Do you have any *legal* mp3?

Tell me Twinsen: did you find something to cure the Dino-Fly?

none of my mp3's are illegal. the .mp3 format is perfectly legal. it's the CONTENT of the mp3 that makes it illegal.

Other than that, what RM said. my ripped CDs.

My MP3's are as legal as walking around in your house as long as you stay inside. Hmm...I think I'm gonna do that...

A very close Japanese friend I knew a while ago once said to me "Watashi no koto wo oboeta, onegai shimasu...Yakusoku?"

I forgot his name though...

90% of my mp3's are legal. The illegal ones belong to my brother and sister- recordings of ghetto niggaz talking about gold chains and related things.

I used to own some illegal MP3s. All had poor sound quality compaired to the ones I ripped of CDs and were deleted promptly.

P.S. I think I meant to say "walking around in your house naked". I don't even remember posting that...

I have a whole bunch of illegal MP3s, but all of the ones I actually listen to were pulled from my own CDs.

Define "illegal mp3".. Aren't you allowed to copy as much mp3's you like as long as you don't share them??

Here's the best source I've found yet on the term "fair use".

Whatever is relevant to whatever it is that I'm doing at the time that I sit down to read it. In other words, when I am looking for one specific thing, I will scan through the document, until I find it. I've gone through about 1/4 of it by this method.

Note that that deals with "fair use" only. It doesn't deal with specific cases, or situations with definite legal boundaries. For that, I recommend you make a visit to the US Copyright Office. Among other things, they archive the DCMA, several versions and amendments to copyright law, and this delightfully informative primer on copyright law.

Well, I have many many MP3s which I now declare as backups if I damage the original copy I have yet to buy. Of course I don't listen to the MP3s because they are only for back up reasons.

Most of my mp3's are 'illegal'. Off course I have also quite a bunch of legal (copy's of my cd's) ones. I just love that playlist that has over 2000 songs in it

Any Mp3 downloaded from an ftp, website or p2p (like KaZaA) is *illegal*.

I suppose that the only way to get *legal* Mp3's is ripping it from your own CD's.

As for me, I find it ironic that my ripped mp3's are virtually the only legal software on this pc. Even the OS is hooky

I have about 10-15 mp3's from mp3.com and other free-distribute sites. I've ripped one track each from 2 cd's to mp3, but all the rest are from audioGalaxy (mirip) There are some tracks that I downloaded then bought, but that only accounts for one or two of them

All My OGG files are legal (except 2)

well i have a few cd's i ripped myself, but they were friend's cds... so i guess that counts as illegal... i think i ripped 4 cd's of mine that i actually bought a few years back, cause i dont wanna mess with the cd's themselves... a bit tedious for my taste... lol.

i've paid for very few peices of music or software in my life
