closing winamp3 and losing prefrences and error message
i have winamp3, i also still have winamp2.80 installed but winamp2 is installed in another folder. I installed winamp3 and i dled the yaxay3 skin as well as gargoyle. When i open winamp3 it keeps commin up as the defualt skin even though i change the skin. When i try to close winamp by hitting the X i get the windows XP message saying winamp3 has encountered an error and needs to close even though it has already closed, then when i open it again all my prefrences are lost. I also changed the prefrence in winamp3 to open at start up and winamp 2 opens up. Sound fimiliar to anyone. i looked throught the bug list and didnt see anything. thx

I've not seen this, but it sounds like its crashing on shutdown which means settings wont be saved. Try doing a new, clean install and chack for the same problem, also PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send the talkback, as its the best way to get crash bugs fixed.
As for the wa2 starting at startup I cant say I've tried it, and I don't recall seeing anything about it either. |

Same problem
I had the same problem, and just tryed something which fixed it.
Someone may want to email this to the winamp ppl...I dont have much time these days...I also installed the international support thing and it was crashing on close. I disabled it in the preferences and yay! it worked. I am running win2k. |

They already know that internationalization is causing people major headaches. The best idea is just not to install it (it says experimental, after all. You'd expect that would scare away most people).
