When using linein, ensure to connect the microphone to the linein jack, not the microphone jack. If possible, connect the musical instrument directly to the jack. This way, you will get stereo input.

Also if you are doing live input with visualizations you will need to goto Jaspers @ http://home.hccnet.nl/th.v.d.gronde/

Download the LowLatency Output plug-in. This will improve loads of the reactivity of the vis as there will be a lot less delay.

This is all beacuse (I believe) Winamp's order oif play is this.

INPUT plugin
THEN
OUTPUT plug-in
THEN
Vis plug-in

(I would like the opition for WA to process the Vis before the output plug-in anyway this would/may improve the reactivity of all vis plug-ins.)

so you get the buffer delay from the standard output plug-in in normal operation.

When I first did stuff live (didn't test anything first ) I didn't know this and was realy annoyed by a noticeable delay.

Oh use WA 2.8 too.
