Watch Out! Here comes the CENTER channel!
Looking for 5.1 music with those spiffy new Klipsches? (Or should I say Logitechs now that they have a great 5.1?) I know I was. For almost a year. And it was driving me crazy.
The other posts I saw all said something along the lines of "It's music, it's only supposed to be in two channels stoopid!". Well that's not my opinion. I bought these speakers for 6, not 2 channels. Now, I have an Audigy on Windows XP (Gasp). I upgraded everything and it still didn't have center channel audio, except on DVDs and stuff that was 'supposed' to have more than 2 channels. This was ok, but I was getting just crazy. Here goes what I did: First Step: Follow everything in this thread. http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=72515 Second Step: Get the A3d emulation here... http://www.3dsoundsurge.com/drivers/utils.html Or a direct link to the file: http://www.3dss.com/files/a2ddrivers312.exe Third Step: Here's the key component... An A3D audio mixer for Winamp 2! GOGOGO! http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details.php?id=63231 For those who feel like ultra configuring it, I am using a scheme as follows: Master: 1.25 m, 0 degrees, 30 degrees, 1 gain, 1 equalization Channel 1: 1.00 m, -90 degrees, 0 degrees, 1 gain, 1 equalization Channel 2: 1.00 m, 90 degrees, 0 degrees, 1 gain, 1 equalization Channel 3: 1.00 m, -135 degrees, 0 degrees, 1 gain, 1 equalization Channel 4: 1.00 m, 135 degrees, 0 degrees, 1 gain, 1 equalization This is making me happy. Quite happy. Hope it helps! Greg |

I would be very interested to hear other members opinions about this alternative output for Winamp...
I just bought an Soundblaster Audigy 2 Platinum and it's really a great solution for some 4 speaker output! Well, await to read your comments and impressions... |

hey, I'm new to this forum, looking for something just like this. However, the A3D isn't liking my rear channels. In the config area, its got my rear speakers greyed out. If I shove the vlume all the way up on my receiver (for the rear channels) i can hear the music, but its almost as if since a3d doens't think its there, its skipping their preamp. everything else works fine.

Nice... but it makes my center sound over-gain..? even at low volume
Why not implement A3D in the Direct-out plugin? I realy miss Crossfading when using this plugin instead ![]() .. Love 2.x

Winamp 2.91
Sound Blaster Audigy XGamer I have tried all of these fixes, and the only way I can get any sound to come out of my center channel is in the "mono" mode and then none of my other speakers make any sound. My system normally runs in 4.1 just fine, but I would like to use the center channel as well. Anyone have any ideas? |

Goto Creative Surround Mixer -> Speaker-Settings: Make sure it's 5.1
Goto Creative Surround Mixer -> EAX-Console -> enable CMSS-3D But I think it makes some odd 3D-Sound. So i use A3D as output in Winamp: set "vet. angle, deg" = 40 (under Master) ·: My Audigy2 loves 5.x
